Woven Worldwide is a socially-conscious home decor brand specializing in high-quality, eco-credentialed, handcrafted baskets for homes and interior spaces.

our raw materials

Each handwoven item is meticulously crafted from elephant grass, a robust, renewable, tropical-scented grass that grows in bamboo-like clusters and does not require pesticides or fertilizers to grow.

where we are

Our design studio in Toronto, Canada is a working studio and is not open to the public as a boutique just yet so we don’t have visitors. But if you ever need us, use please use the appropriate email to get in touch. Check our FAQs as we’ve tried to answer our most popular questions.

how do your source your baskets?

We dont. At the beginning of the company we sourced from 2 suppliers. Since then, we have learned best practices to develop our own team and build one on one relationships with each artisan; void of suppliers.

Our goal is to work with as many artisans and independent artisans as possible. We take great care in direct relationships with each artisan, to ensure quality and so that everyone can enjoy products from our small businesses without any doubts about their origin or quality!

do you have a physical store?

Not yet!

do you offer a pre-order service?

Pre-ordered products are listed in the product description. This is an estimated delivery date that we work with our artisan partners at our design studio in Ghana.

Here are items available for preorder.

These lead times may alter owing to shipment delays beyond our control. The projected lead time for pre-ordered baskets is indicated in the product description.

What are you doing to be more sustainable?

Each basket we craft is the product of hundreds of years of Ghana's ancestral weaving methods, and producing with the highest-quality materials. We vet the artisans we partner with and our raw materials to make sure they meet our standards, are good for you and better for the environment. In addition to thinking about the impact on people and the environment, we consider factors like availability, fashion cycles in contrast to Ghana's harvest season and water.

does Woven Worldwide provide training to artisans?

Due to exposure of international retail environments and cultural lineage, our workshops are truly an interactive process that promote a hybrid of ancestral weaving techniques; weaving quality control, self-identity, and global aesthetics.

Our training standardizes production in an informal market, and provides artisan leaders with tools, resources and innovative ways to preserve and improve heritage techniques.

From hand-crafted accessories made by local artisans to island-inspired formulas, every product has a story.


Our products are not crafted by basket weavers under the age of 18.

How do I place an order?

How long does a custom woven basket project take? When can we start?

Typically, we work together for anywhere from 2-3 weeks, before production begins, depending on the scope and complexity of the project. We typically book projects 1-2 months in advance, so please keep that in mind when connecting with us.

Does Woven Worldwide produce their baskets with eco-friendly materials?

Elephant grass, our core raw material is a sustainable fibre, harvested from living sources. We do not use animal leathers at any time in our production and prefer cactus or apple skin as an environmentally friendly substitute.

Do you provide pre-orders ?

We allow retailers to schedule orders up to 6 months in advance.
Orders will be paid based off ship date.

Does Woven Worldwide provide custom design services ?

Yes! We will work together through a discovery process to reveal your product design intent.

Returns & Exchanges

We are happy to accept returns for items purchased directly from wovenworldwide.com only if your order was incorrectly shipped or an item is damaged. Please reach out to us within 7 days of delivery so we can help sort it out!

What is the return policy?

We are happy to accept returns for items purchased directly from wovenworldwide.com only if your order was incorrectly shipped or an item arrived damaged, please reach out to us within 7 days of delivery so we can help sort it out!

If you believe your item is faulty, or otherwise defective, we offer a 3-month warranty* from the date of purchase and would be happy to help you replace the item.  Contact us here and our customer support team will take care of you.  

Items must be in unused condition with all original tags and packaging intact to be eligible for a refund.

Items marked “final sale” are not eligible for return or exchange. All international shipments are considered final sale and are not eligible for return or exchange.

Shipping Policy

*Please note that due to Covid-19, we are experiencing significant delays for international postage. We apologise for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.*

All orders are processed within 3 to 6 business days (excluding weekends and holidays) after recreceiving your order confirmation emails.

Do you provide free shipping?

All Canada based orders over $500 ship for free!

Can I leave specific area for shipping details?

There is an area for any notes we need to know about your order on the checkout page.

International Shipping

At this time, all orders are considered international because our production home is in Ghana. We provide international shipping to the following countries and regions: USA, Mexico,

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, we do!  International orders are shipped with tracking via DHL and cost is calculated at checkout, based on volume and destination country.

Items shipped internationally are subject to import custom duties and taxes. The recipient of the shipment is the importer of record and must comply with all applicable laws and regulations. The customer is responsible for paying all taxes and duties, should they occur.
