Value chain

Our Nestled Woven Basket sets are crafted by a group of single weaving male Artisans in our design workshop in Accra, Ghana, who have learned this skillset from community figures during their childhood.

Handwoven from a sustainably sourced, durable fiber, this woven basket set takes roughly 3 days to complete when the team works in stages.

    More Information About Woven Worldwide

    • Women-Conscious Value Chain

We are dedicated to developing our products in the most environmentally friendly and sustainable manner possible. We source our grass from Lizzy, a matriach weaver and farmer who harvests our elephant grass from living sources that can be replenished at the same rate as they are depleted.

    • Pesticide Free

Each handwoven item is carefully crafted elephant grass, a robust, renewable tropical grass that grows in bamboo-like clusters and is grown, harvested, and sun-dried in Ghana without the use of pesticides or fertilizers. Our dyes are also free of harmful or dangerous chemicals.

    • Unique Materials

Due to the natural characteristics of elephant grass, each woven basket may have a slight variation in reed colour. When the grass was harvested, woven, and how long it was allowed to dry in the sun determine this. The natural reed gradient ranges from pale green to beige to mustard yellow. This gradient is a beautiful natural feature that should be admired.

    • All Natural

We put a lot of effort into producing woven baskets for homes all over the world using sustainable, organic materials. To make your woven baskets, we only use natural elements such as straw and water.
